Megatour!!

Hello all! Sorry I've been a bit of an absent blogger as of late. This past week has been a crazy one for me and I'm sort of catching up on everything.

Tuesday and Wednesday evenings I had a couple of shows (jokingly referred to as my "megatour") that left me lacking sleep. They were my first two of the year, which is always a bit nerve racking, and they were with a couple of new gals that I've never played with before, leaving me extra edgy. The first one didn't go quite as well as hoped, but the second was fantastic! It totally prepared me for the summer rush :)

Unfortunately, we only got "real" photos at the first show, and only one phone picture at the second, but here they are :)

Show #2 :)

The rest of the week I've been catching up on sleep! It was a rough few nights there, but I hope to be back blogging very soon :)

April Fools

Hello all! So, I know I literally JUST gone done blogging, but I had such a super great day I just had to share with you all! It started early this morning with a round of golf and lunch with my dad. I'm awful at golfing. Well... I can't say that yet... It was only my second time. BUT I wasn't great. Then we grabbed some lunch with my sister and I headed out for some thrifting. I, very quickly, got distracted by the gorgeous day and Noah and the Whale playing as I was driving around, and ended up on a very long drive in the middle of nowhere. All by myself. It was incredible.

While I was out on this little jaunt, Kala texted and invited me for another little trip with Christian out to Jacksonville for dinner and photo taking! It was such a blast! We went to this cute little place in Jacksonville called Jasper's. It's been there for ages and I haven't been since highschool. We got cheeseburgers with avocado and mango, sweet potato tots and a delicious chocolate chai malt. So tasty! Then headed out for photos. At this point it was getting a bit dark, so we only got to snap a few shots before finishing our night.

It was such a relaxing day, and a much needed one at that! Not at all stressful like a typical April Fools Day! Hope you all had a nice one as well :D

We Took the Handmade... I mean... the Hairdye Pledge...

Last night, my best friend Kala and I got down to some really serious vlogging. Unforutnately, we are incapable of being serious, so this was the result...

I know you probably can't get over how funny we are right now, but just wait... there's more coming :)

Day 24:How I've Changed :)

Hello everyone! First of all, I just want to celebrate because yesterday was my 100th post! I somehow missed that as it was happening, but here's a belated woohoo! Next, this blog is about how I've changed over the past two years. Since I feel that I don't really know what ways I've changed, I turned to those around me for my answers :)

The general consensus was that I've become far more bold. Of course, I got joking answers like, "taller" and "more busty", but truly, I know that I've become far more confident and outgoing. I've really grown in my sense of humor. Absolutely. I used to be so hesitant to say things because I thought no one would think they were funny or they weren't witty enough. But now I just go for it! And I don't feel stupid if no one is laughing, because guess what? I'm laughing. I now play shows in front of people. I would not do that two years ago... I'm far more open to the idea of having a family. Two years ago I'd say there was no way I'd ever have kids. Now I accept the potential. Two years ago, I'd never been in a bar. Now (about two months ago) I finished my first entire drink on my own!

My most recent change took place last night, when I dyed my hair for the first time in over THREE YEARS! It was absolutely crazy, and I wasn't sure if I should go through with it, but I'm so glad I did! It totally added a nice dimension to my hair that was very needed :)

Check back tomorrow for a super fun DIY! Bruklyn style!

Day 20: Procrastination

It's not really the topic of the day, but it's the topic of my life at the moment...

I'm supposed to be discussing how important education is, and while the topic is one that I really want to discuss, I'm sooo not in the mood right now. See, about a month back I started working Monday through Saturday. It's great on the pocketbook, not great on the personal life/online and Etsy world. In any case, ever since, I've been wanting to just stop and enjoy a day off, but instead, my days off keep getting busier and busier. For instance, this day... It started with a bit of sleeping in, which was absolutely fantastic. It led to Valentine's day baking...

Now I made my valentines for those that I work with... these super fun Trolls valentines from 1993 I found at a creepy old thrift store. So fun!

I then headed over to the studio to do a quick paint job. Which turned into an eight hour paint job... positively exhausting! But I think it looks so great, it was worth every moment :)

Lastly, home to put together a flower arrangement for my sister's Valentine's Day present...

And alas, here to blog and watching Bella... and fall asleep... It took a lot out of me to write this tonight! Haha. I hope all have a good night and a great day tomorrow!

P.S. I was a bit late on this post, sorry to say. I'm not writing at 10:50, but 1:50. So I didn't make it in by my deadline. That also might explain why it doesn't make sense. If it doesn't... Goodnight!

Day 17: Highs & Lows

Over the past year...

My life has changed in so many ways. Both personally and in business life, the small changes piled up to make a huge difference.

I had so many highs that I can't even name them all; mini road trips, the Swell Season at Britt Festival, Renegade Craft Fair, one of my very best friends moving home, so many more... I couldn't possibly pick one, because I know that I would absolutely leave someone or something out. But I had one huge low.

Without getting too personal, my best friend was going through a serious family crisis. It was an awful situation that I've not had to deal with before and it was basically a make or break point in our friendship. I never knew quite what to say and somehow always managed to say the exact wrong thing. Whatever I tried, I felt like she was pushing me away and I didn't know how to deal with it. So I gave up. I decided to take some alone time and let her have her own to deal with things. It was so hard. I wanted to call so badly, but I knew it wasn't the right time and I couldn't provide what she needed. We didn't talk for over a month.

We finally spoke again and it was absolutely amazing. We were so much closer after giving each other the space that we needed and we could appreciate each other and our support far more than ever before. That time was, without a doubt, the lowest point of my last year, but it resulted in a high point. A closer relationship. An ability to open up more than ever before. So... there you have it :)

Day 8: Cherished Moments

A moment I've felt most satisfied with my life...

I know this is sort of cheating the topic, but I have had so many amazing memories in my life and I thought I'd share a few that were precious to me rather than one. It's just too hard to choose!

My first musical performance:

This was my first time actually performing in front of people. For real. Many of my friends were there and many that I don't know, including the incredible Johnny Marr, it's the one name that I have to drop :) My best friend and I drove up to Portland and played with my incredible friend, Joel Swensen at the cutest little coffee shop, Red E. It was a moment that I truly thought would never come and it felt really great.

Out on a ledge:

I am absolutely terrified of heights. Not necessarily inside, but outside... eek. One day a group of friends and I went on a hike near our home, nothing too crazy, but quite fun. Anyway, when we were at the top my friend suggested that we go out on a ledge to take photos. We could only go one at a time for a lack of space and a drop off at the edge. It was awful. AWFUL. But when all was said and done I felt so accomplished. It was one of my favorite moments!

Every trip to the Oregon coast/Redwoods that I've ever taken :

There's a reason my blog is full of pictures of the Oregon coast. I absolutely love going. Here in Southern Oregon it's only about an hour and a half drive through one of the most beautiful places on earth... the Redwoods. I get quite car sick these days, which is unfortunate, but I still love every moment on each trip. I go frequently with my family and friends and each trip is so spectacular.

Renegade San Francisco:

Although my trip to Renegade wasn't exactly for me, I feel that it was one of the most amazing trips of my life! For so many reasons, I feel that my relationship with my best friend, Kala Noel, grew so much during that time. I was so proud of her in so many ways and it was such magical trip :)

My new studio space:

Getting into my new space was an absolute dream come true! I used to run my entire Etsy shop out of my bedroom and it is such a relief to have my own room again :)

If I were able, the list would go on for ages, so I'll stop here :)

Day 2: Looking to the Future

Where will I be in 10 years?

This is such a tough question for me! I feel that it's incredibly important to set goals for my life and plan ahead to make those goals a reality. However, I also truly think that being flexible and easy-going are quite admirable traits in a person. Life doesn't go as anyone plans it. Ever. Being able to adjust to circumstances is key in moving on in your life. IF life were to go exactly as I'd planned, here's where I might see myself in ten years....

In ten years I'll be 32. Hopefully still doing something that I love. My current job incorporates so many aspects of what I hope to be doing down the line (own my own shop) and is a prime example of how God completely puts you where you belong when you least expect it. I hope to eventually have a little shop filled with goods made by local crafters, have some of my personal handmade goods and mix with vintage, furniture and books. Something of a hodge podge boutique.

I think I'll be somewhere new. Possibly Portland? Perhaps somewhere on the east coast... I've wanted to move there for quite some time, but I happen to be one of those who is happy where I happen to be. Which brings me to my family... At that point I expect that I'd be married. Of course, that isn't a given, but I hope that at that point in my life I'll have found someone worth spending it with. And I'd be willing to live where he's interested in living. Have a home somewhere together. I'd love to have a cute little Victorian house. Or one made of brick. And decorate it in our own kitschy way :)

I think that's about it :)
